Since 1994, Farago & Associates has worked mainly with newspapers across the United States, providing them with turnkey custom publishing solutions designed to generate revenue and increase market share. Farago & Associates is actively publishing or producing over 40, four-color periodic publications, ranging from money-saving coupon books to elegant home magazines.
An important aspect of the company's philosophy is the maintenance of strong and close relationships with each of its business partners. This results in the ability to anticipate and respond more effectively to client needs and being able to assist them in meeting the challenges that arise both in the short and-long-term. Farago & Associates is proud to count many relationships with companies they serve that have been enjoyed for 17 or more years.
Newspaper clients include the Bowling Green Daily News, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the Omaha World-Herald, the Peoria Journal-Star, the Dayton Daily News, the Toledo Blade and the Detroit Jewish News. We are also the graphics and art agency of record for Affluent Living Publications based in Fullerton, California; Distinctive Living Publications in Folsum, Pennsylvania, custom publisher for Get In The Game magazine for Waterford, Michigan-based Dunham's Sports, and we perform all the graphic services for the custom orders for Fathead Corporation of Livonia, Michigan.
Peter FaragoPeter is the founder and president of Farago & Associates. He is mainly responsible for sourcing new business opportunities and for developing and maintaining all client relationships for the company. His background consists of 17 years working in client services for multi-national advertising agencies, including DDB Needham and the J. Walter Thompson Company. He has handled such major accounts as McDonald's, Burger King, Goodyear, Kodak, and Audi of America. Peter met his wife, Joan, at Michigan State University, and they have been married for 35 years. They have three sons — Peter, 31, who is completing his third year of residency at St. Johns Hospital in Detroit, Scott, 28, a graduate of the Columbia College of Chicago and a musician, and Brent 24, a graduate of Wayne State University and an account manager at Farago & Associates.
Scott SchofdingScott is Director of the Home, Health and Custom Magazines at Farago & Associates with primary responsibility for these products for our main core of newspaper clients. Scott enjoys the creative process and takes pride in joining others at the company in providing superior client service. His background includes 13 years of advertising agency experience that covered both media and account service on a variety of national and retail accounts from K-Mart to Volkswagen. It's here where Scott and Farago founder, Peter Farago, met and worked together forging a strong working relationship that has spanned over 25 years. Scott, his wife JoAnn, and their three children reside in Beverly Hills, Michigan.
Bruce MacDonaldBruce is responsible for the financial and human resource departments. He also manages the advertising coupon book program for newspapers and direct mail. He joined Farago & Associates in 1995, with a diversified background consisting of 30 years working with talented artists and ad agency creative staff. He was a co-owner of the McNamara Group and President of the advertising art and design division. He brings a wide range of experience in sales, graphic art and management. He studied as an illustrator and designer, skills which enabled him to contribute to the production of all facets of advertising material. Bruce and his wife Linda live in West Bloomfield, where together, they enjoy the seasonal changes of their many gardens.
Mike SchofdingAs Director of Creative Services for Farago & Associates, Michael oversees all aspects of design at the company. He earned his degree in Advertising Design at the College of Creative Studies, but he credits learning his people skills and managerial style from his many years as manager for Great Scott Supermarkets. He says the time spent in the retail food industry helped prepare him for the fast-paced environment and growing demands of the advertising industry and their clients for the past 30 years. Mike and his wife Janet have been married for 36 years and have two children, a son, Steven 22, and daughter, Jennifer 18. They reside in Washington, Michigan.
Scott DrewieckiScott is the production manager at Farago & Associates. He is responsible for the daily operation to ensure all client needs and printer deadlines are met. Scott has been the on site production manager for the Detroit Jewish News for the last three years. Scott's background consists of 21 years in the printing/advertising industry. He was a Mac operator for the first nine years in the business working in the automotive sector, and is fluent in Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Quark Express. For the past 12 years Scott has been in management roles as the plant supervisor at Schawk for 7 years and then as the production manager for Premedia Services of Detroit for 2 years. He then went to work for Vertis as the site manager of the Detroit operation for 3 years before joining Farago & Associates in August of 2010. Scott has been married to his wife Ann for the past 15 years. They have a daughter Stacey, 12 and son Nick, 9. Scott earned his degree in Printing technology from Ferris State University in 1990 and is currently working on his Bachelors of Business Administration degree from Northwood University.
